Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist with a strong background supporting both corporate office and warehouse operations.  The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting and maintaining PCs, Servers, RF equipment, network equipment, CRM systems, and SAP Basis. This role will involve providing technical support, ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure, and closely working with internal users to resolve issues efficiently. With all positions at Tree of Life Canada we expect that all actions will be consistent with Tree of Life Canada’s Mission, Vision and Values.  This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Essential Functions

Technical Support:

  • Provide hands-on technical support for hardware and software issues related to PCs, servers, and network equipment in office and warehouse settings.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with RF equipment, including handheld scanners, label printers, and other warehouse technology.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of CRM systems, SAP Basis, and other business applications.

 

System Maintenance & Administration:

  • Perform routine maintenance on PCs, servers, network devices, and RF equipment.
  • Assist with server administration tasks such as user management, backup management, and system updates.
  • Ensure high availability of IT systems in the warehouse environment, including monitoring network connectivity and server performance.

Network Support:

  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN networks, Wi-Fi access points, switches, and other networking devices.
  • Monitor network performance and implement solutions to optimize performance and uptime.

SAP Basis Support:

  • Support the SAP Basis team by handling basic administrative tasks, such as user access management, monitoring system logs, and coordinating system updates.
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues within the SAP environment, collaborating with internal teams as necessary.

 

User Training & Documentation:

  • Provide end-user training on IT systems and new technologies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food). 
  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, or SAP Certified Technology Associate (SAP Basis).
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, Windows operation systems, and server administration.
  • Experience with RF equipment (e.g., barcode scanners, label printers) and troubleshooting issues in a warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with network devices (routers, switches, access points) and basic networking concepts.
  • Experience with IT services management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Familiarity with SAP S4 Hana or other ERP systems an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • This role may require occasional evening or weekend work to perform maintenance tasks or resolve critical issues.
