Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to manage our warehouse operations on the night shift effectively. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations such as efficiently receiving and stocking of inbound freight and coordinating the selection and loading of product in the most cost-effective manner. You will also oversee a team of warehouse staff, monitor inventory levels, ensure timely dispatch of orders and maintain a safe working environment. Schedule: Nights, Sunday - Thursday (10:00pm-6:00am)

Essential Functions

  • Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food)
  • Environment has three temperature - ambient, refrigerated and frozen
  • Proactive communication to internal contacts regarding warehouse processes which impact customers and transportation.
  • Establish and implement operational policies and procedures including but not limited to production, receiving, routing, inventory, and transportation.
  • Responsible for maintaining high standards related to the physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
  • Implement new processes to increase efficiencies while reducing costs.
  • Ensure warehouse is in compliance with all provincial and federal laws (or equivalent Canadian laws).
  • Ensure warehouse associate training is occurring timely.
  • Troubleshoot systems issues, which affect timely delivery and/or receiving of product.
  • Plan daily and weekly production activities when necessary.
  • Ensure all food safety compliance.
  • Ensure company sponsored safety programs are administered correctly according to best practice.
  • Proactively improve labor relations.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.
  • Must maintain good attendance, safe work practice and maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
  • Participate on Health and Safety Committees and have a working knowledge of accident reporting.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • High School Diploma required and a minimum of five (5) years’ previous warehouse/logistics management experience.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively supervisor and motivate warehouse staff.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software to track and manage inventory shipments and productivity metrics.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook) and SAP (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Cycle Counts and Inventory Movement.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve operational challenges promptly.
  • Forklift and related power equipment license and training certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and experience in implementing safety protocols.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by operational needs.
