Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for the position is to maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse and contribute to a clean and safe working environment.  As with all positions at Tree of Life Canada we expect that all actions will be consistent with Tree of Life Canada’s Mission, Vision and Values.

Essential Functions

  • Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food)
  • General maintenance, cleaning, and preventative maintenance to include, but not limited to, sweeping and cleaning floors, collection and removal of trash, and dusting.
  • Clean product spills in warehouse isles as needed.
  • Remove product from floor level slots and double deep slots to ensure slot floor is clean of debris.
  • Operate trash compactor, empty trash containers.
  • While following safety procedures, ensure all cleaning materials are kept in a well-marked, ventilated area.
  • Operate powered equipment such as a forklift and scrubber.
  • Keep trash compactor area clean and free of excess debris.
  • Periodically wiping/dusting the upright beam within the reach of arm-length height.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.
  • Must maintain good attendance, safe work practices and maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
  • Should be comfortable working in a Fast-paced warehouse setting with exposure to multiple temperature zones, including:
  • Ambient (dry storage): 55°F–75°F (13°C–24°C)
  • Refrigerated/cooler: 32°F–45°F (0°C–7°C)
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • May require working in cold environments for extended periods.
  • Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food).
  • Pick orders quickly and accurately and in a manner, which allows the order checker to verify the product quickly and efficiently.
  • Package the products in a professional manner (i.e., label each box with the “Re-Pack” sticker, repacking product into larger cartons or totes).
  • Place the orders on the appropriate pallets, ready for shipping out; these pallets are then to be arranged (stored) by route number in the designated locations.
  • Ensure labels are arranged on pallets appropriately.
  • Ensure that they have checked all the products in the temporary out of stock portion of the picking slip for custom packs and pre-packs.
  • Notify Supervisor or forklift operator if in need of replenishment.
  • Use of warehouse equipment such as scissor lifts, pallet jacks, forklifts, or reach trucks.
  • Role may involve early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or overtime depending on operational needs.
  • Requires adherence to PPE guidelines, including cold-weather gear in low-temperature zones.
  • Other duties and special project as required

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Previous experience operating power industrial equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, floor scrubber) preferred.
  • The associate should communicate well with internal customers and management.
  • Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision. Must be able to carry, lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, and climb while performing the duties of this position. The associate is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm.  The associate is also exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise levels in the work environment are typically low to moderate.

The base compensation range for this role is $19.32CAD - $26.49CAD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
