    Primary Responsibilities

    The Costing Associate is responsible for product costing, reviewing and investigating cost variances and reconciling liability accounts. Additional responsibilities include preparing month end journal entries and providing support to the Costing Manager in various projects.     Essential Functions

    • Product costing for inventory received
    • Review and investigate Inventory Cost variances
    • Reconcile branch transfer and Purchase Order liability accounts for inventory received
    • Cost work up for new products setup cost
    • Prepare month end journal entries as needed
    • Code inventory payable invoices and forward for payment
    • Other duties and special projects as requested.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    • Business degree and/or working towards a professional accounting designation considered an asset
    • Progressive experience in finance an asset
    • Experience in grocery and/or distribution industry an asset
    • Requires good working knowledge of general ledger, inventory and costing
    • Proficient in MS Office with knowledge with computer systems, inventory and costing applications
    • Have strong organization and time management skills with ability to work independently
    • Resourceful, well organized, dependable, efficient and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
    • Ability to establish creditability and be decisive
    • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail are required
