    Primary Responsibilities

    The primary responsibilities of the job are: preparation of bank deposits, contacting customers re: payments, cash application and filing. As with all positions with Tree of Life Canada we expect that all activities will be consistent with Tree of Life Canada ‘s Mission, Vision and Values.

    Essential Functions

    • Verify cheques are signed, properly completed and made payable to Tree of life, plus stamp protected
    • Prepare bank summary and deposit in bank book, take copy of cheques and attach to back-up, with summary
    • Save deposit to history file
    • Accurate and timely posting of cash receipts to customer accounts
    • Circulate copies of deposits to cash application specialists and credit manager
    • Call COD customers to arrange payments and release orders accordingly in a timely fashion
    • Assist customers both internal and external
    • Filing of route sheets (PODs), AR cash batches and adjustments
    • Involvement in all A/R dept duties and perform other tasks and projects as required
    • Must maintain good attendance, safe work practices and maintain safeguards of confidential company information.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    • High School Diploma or GED required. Post-secondary education in accounting or Finance required
    • A minimum of 1 year of related office experience.
    • Knowledge of general accounting principles, accounts receivable processes and systems.
    • Strong time management, interpersonal, problem solving, and oral and written communication skills required
    • Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills - with technical aptitude for working with various financial systems (e.g. AS400, BPCS, Excel)
    • Accurate, with strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and take direction
